Bookworm Babies (Six week course)

Bookworm Babies (Six week course)

Autumn 2020 courses start on Tuesday 17 November and Wednesday 18 November at 11am.

While our visitor centre is closed for public events due to the latest government restrictions, we're delighted to offer a digital version of our most popular offer for you and your baby to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.

One of our brilliant Story Catchers will lead fully live and interactive sessions on Zoom every week where they'll show you how to use activities, props and  exploratory play to support and encourage your child to develop a strong love of books from an early age.

We’ll post out a book and some small resources needed for the sessions before the course begins and we’ll set-up a private Facebook group for you to interact with other course participants and your course leader. They'll also suggest extra activities you can try at home between sessions.

The course outline is:

  • Week One: Welcome - introductory session, looking at sounds and voice.
  • Week Two: Colour – discover the immersive world of colours
  • Week Three: Relationships - babies, family and the home
  • Week Four: Movement - using books as props and the importance of reading on the move
  • Week Five: Under the sea -actions and books at bath time
  • Week Six: Farm - ways to explore sensory play

Extra benefits!

  • Your group will have a dedicated Story Catcher to guide you throughout the six week course.
  • a private group to chat with other participants and your course leader.
  • 10% off bookshop voucher.
  • A personalised certificate upon completion of the course.
  • A free book!

This is an online event and will be delivered via Zoom. You'll need to download the app and create a Zoom account before the session.
