Opening hours are 10am to 5pm, six days a week in term time (closed on Wednesdays). We are open seven days a week during school holidays.

Entry to the museum is FREE. This includes all galleries, our independent bookshop, and coffee shop. See our trailer for a peek inside the building or take a 360 video tour of levels 3, 4 and 5.

Plan your visit:

  • Always check the homepage prior to your visit as opening hours may vary
  • There is no need to book a visit, you can pop in anytime during opening hours for free 
  • Browse the events for something special on your visit (use the calendar on the homepage and What's On page) and book your places (special events and workshops are ticketed). 
  • Don't forget to take photos on your visit and share with us!
  • We really value your feedback. You will receive a survey by email after your visit and we would be grateful if you could complete it. There are also paper feedback forms available in the Visitor Centre if you prefer - just hand these to a member of staff.

Coffee Shop
