Join us for a lazy brunch this summer in our newly designed Riverbank Cafe. Munch on a Full English, while taking in the views of the River Ouse leaving the washing up to us.

We love stories.

From creating them, to protecting them to bringing them to life, we know them inside out - and it's our job to share as many as we can.

We're a registered charity and accredited museum, and our team work with schools, communities and families to ensure every child has access to stories.

Visit us for free in Newcastle upon Tyne - in our very special seven-storey listed building - and see original artworks, draft manuscripts, correspondence from bestselling authors and hear all about the stories behind the stories. We have events, workshops and storytimes every week - plan your visit to make the most of your time.

Our children and young adult's bookshop and coffee shop are open 10am - 5pm every day except Wednesdays in term time (open seven days a week in school holidays). You can also hire us for your school, team, group or even your birthday party!

You can support our work by texting STORIES to 70480. Texts will cost the donation amount plus one standard network rate message, and you will be opting into hearing more from us in future. All money raised is used to save, celebrate and share the wonderful world of children's books.
