Terror-ific Events this October Half Term

Don’t be a scaredy cat – visit Seven Stories this October Half term for some spell-binding story times, activities and events for the whole family to enjoy.  Jump on your broomstick and enjoy spooky craft activities all week and interactive story times full of your favourite spooky characters.

Meet Seven Stories’ resident  witch and enjoy a Halloween themed story time spooktacular. Perfect your cackle and join in an interactive reading of Room on the Broom, play games, sing songs all with a spooky twist. Finally watch Room on the Broom together in a relaxed, child friendly atmosphere. (Sunday 26 October – Sunday 2 November, 12.45pm)

Halloween kicks of early this year with an author event unlike any other. Venture into the shadows of the Artist’s Attic and meet Dave Shelton and Jeff Norton for an afterhours reading by torchlight. Share your own spooky stories and create some completely new ones (Thursday 23 October, 6pm)

Join local comic book publishers, Art Heroes, for tips on developing your own spooky stories and creating creepy characters. Perfect for anyone mad about comics, cartoons, drawing and telling tales! (Sunday 26 October, 11am – 1pm & 2pm – 4pm)

Do you have loads of stories in your head just dying to get out? Create your own book and work with Seven Stories resident expert in a unique 3 Day Build-a-Book Wokskshop. Get up close to original illustrations and manuscripts form David Almond’s My Dad’s  a Birdman and use this unique experience to inspire your own work. Think about great ideas and character profiles, work on storyboards, design the jacket and meet David Almond himself in this unique Book-Camp, perfect for all aspiring authors.
