Shadow Hunting with Cassandra Clare
Seven Stories welcomed phenomenally popular YA author Cassandra Clare to the North East for an event with 300 Shadow Hunters!
Cassandra was interviewed by her friend and fellow YA author Sarah Rees Brennan. Fans heard her talk about her incredibly popular books, heard the characters top-secret answerphone messages and found out how she got the inspiration for her incredibly popular books. This was one of Casandra’s only UK events and the first time that she has appeared in the North East.
300 dedicated fans flocked to Tyneside Cinema for the event organised by Seven Stories, National Centre for Children’s Books. Cassandra has an international following and exclusively announced that a top secret short – story collection will be coming soon.
Thamy Duffield is a big fan, she said, “Excited isn’t enough. I am passed that. Ecstatic would be a better word. I am so happy that she came to Newcastle, her books are special, her characters are like family. I love her because she is an amazing storyteller, it’s that simple.”
Two super fans had travelled from Leeds to meet Cassie, they said; “We love Cassie’s books so much and we have come from Leeds to see her tonight, we have been to London a few times to see her and Edinburgh. It is so special that she has come to the North East, I can’t believe she is so close. Thank you Seven Stories!”
