Introducing the new Festive Season from Seven Stories

The Ouseburn Valley is the place to be this winter as Seven Stories hosts an action packed programme of wintery wonder for all the family.

The Centre will host a number of intimate Christmassy shows, Elves Wanted! Festive Sleigh-quel, based on the popular book by Alan Snow How Santa Really Works. The specially commissioned show, Written and Directed by Laura Bridges, exclusively to Seven Stories see’s the audience working together with two Elves Arthur and Marte to help save Christmas. Festive preparations have ground to a halt and Santa is nowhere to be seen, will Christmas even go ahead? Join the Elves in the festive glow of the Attic for a fun filled event the whole family can enjoy.

Elves Wanted! Festive Sleigh-quel is available 10/11 December, 17/18 December and 22/23/24 December. Relaxed performances are available. Booking essential. £5 per person for event ticket only. If you wish to see the rest of the Visitor Centre, admission is required. Running time approx. 45 minutes.

Seven Stories is proud to a part of the Great North Snowdogs trail in aid of St Oswald’s Hospice. As well as being home to THE Snowdog and a litter of small pups, the Centre has a series of Snowdog related crafts including making your own Snowdog ears and Snowdog sock decorations available throughout December, with activities included in your admission.

All little pups (under 4s) are invited to cosy up with the Snowdog this Christmas for an enchanting festive event, Snowdog’s Christmas Story Party. Bursting with songs, games and stories little ones will enjoy a sprinkling of snowflakes, and help to choose the perfect Snowdog ears.

Booking essential. £3 per person for event ticket only. If you wish to see the rest of the Visitor Centre, admission is required. Running time approx. 40 minutes.

On Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November Seven Stories is offering an exclusive 15% off in the Independent Children's Bookshop. Stock up on your Christmas gifts with a wide ranging selection from board books and picturebooks, to gifts, YA reads and everything in between! Staff will be on hand to help with any requests or queries and can help you find the perfect gifts or recommends.

The discounted shopping weekend coincides with Ouseburn Open Studios, a unique chance to view the work and take a glimpse into the working world of over 200 artists and designer-makers in the Ouseburn Valley. With live music, delicious food and interactive workshops head to Ouseburn for some seasonal spirit and Christmas stocking goodies.

To celebrate Ouseburn Open Studios it will also be FREE entry to Seven Stories Studio on Level 1 for you to warm up and enjoy some Christmas Crafts.
