Bunny Book Burglars Run Rife at Seven Stories
Seven Stories, National Centre for Children’s Books
Friday 10 April • 11am & 2pm
Seven Stories is thrilled to welcome author and illustrator Emily MacKenzie for an event for the whole family celebrating her debut picturebook WANTED! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar.
Families are invited to take part in a fabulous, interactive workshop with debut author Emily MacKenzie to celebrate her brand new picturebook WANTED! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar (Bloomsbury). Children will listen to a reading of the hilarious story about Ralfy, a cheeky rabbit caught stealing all bookworm Arthur’s books before he is introduced to the wonders of the local library. Families will hear first-hand from Emily how she created the story and work together to make their own Bunny Book Burglar to add to a police line-up wall.
Emily says “I'm really looking forward to coming home to the North East to introduce Ralfy to the children of Newcastle at Seven Stories next week. It's such a brilliant place, it's going to be really exciting to do an event there and unleash some bunny book thief madness on the walls!”
Emily MacKenzie is a fresh and inspiring new talent whose illustration work draws from childhood memories, everyday observations, and her vivid imagination. Her debut picturebook has recently been shortlisted for the Independent Bookshop Week 2015 Book Awards and she is currently working on her second title for Bloomsbury.
