Bookworm Babies is Back!

September has arrived and with the decidedly chilly air comes a new season full of events specifically tailored for under 4s at Seven Stories.  Your little bookworms will be spoilt for choice at Seven Stories – and with our new Adult and Toddler Annual Pass for just £30 you can come back time and again for a whole year.

We’re delighted to announce that Bookworm Babies is back this September with six week courses starting from Tuesday 15 and Friday 18 September at 1.30pm.  Babies are never too young to enjoy stories with you. Bookworm Babies uses imaginative, exploratory play to introduce babies to the joy of reading.  An ideal way to meet new parents and discover the best new baby books, this multi-sensory session includes visits to our galleries, learning new songs, games and discovering the very best of books for babies.  Pick up top tips from our knowledgeable Bookshop Team to help you to continue book fun at home.

Make the most of our newly refurbished building with more to do and explore for under 4s.  May we recommend an Adult and Toddler Annual Pass for just £30 which will entitle you and your little one to unlimited access to Seven Stories for a whole year.  An annual pass gives you the flexibility to drop in for an hour or stay all day to fit in with your family's needs.  Collect an exclusive Early Years Guide from reception to help you explore and enjoy daily story times and our new performance based on Chris Haughton’s Shh! We Have A Plan in our enchanting Attic space.  Explore the Rhyme Around the World Exhibition brimming with nursery rhymes old and new.  Step aboard the Story Station on Level 4 – a redesigned space especially for our youngest visitors - and be whisked away to a world of stories. Seven of your favourite books have been brought to life with the help of sensory boxes full of texture, sound and colour.  Curl up and share a story in our Snug or experience a new book through multi-sensory play.

You and your little one are invited to take part in our new Sensory Story Sessions from October.  Using all of your senses, discover new ways of sharing and exploring stories together in our relaxed and friendly setting.  Dive under the sea, venture into the woods or step into the jungle to discover the sights, sounds, textures or smells of a different story environment each term.

Unlock our brand new Rhyme Around the World – A Nursery Rhyme Exhibition with daily Little Story Explorers.  Join our Story Catchers as they take you around this beautiful exhibition for a session full of singing, stories and games. If you and your little one would like to continue exploring, collect one of our specially developed Sensory Backpacks which are available for hire at reception on Level 3. Using all the senses, these backpacks will enhance your gallery experience as you and your little one investigate, discover, pause and sing.

Drop into the Studio on Level 1 after 1.30pm where grown-ups and little ones can draw, paint, write, make, doodle and build. We believe that everyone can be creative. Our activities in the Studio will encourage development in problem solving, help to improve fine motor skills and coordination, nurture self-expression, aid concentration, promote mark making, open their eyes to their environment by exploring texture, colour, light and shape, foster innovators, creative thinkers and experimenters …not to mention it is great fun!
