Seven Stories Launches Innovative Digital Exhibition

Seven Stories, National Centre for Children’s Books is excited to announce the launch of their new Digital Exhibition - Mystery, Magic and Midnight Feasts: A Digital Exhibition. This is the first time Seven Stories have created a digital exhibition and their popular exhibition has now been curated on a digital platform for an international audience to enjoy. The National centre, based in Newcastle upon Tyne, will also release a digital version of their popular exhibition Tiger, Mog and Pink Rabbit – A Judith Kerr Retrospective this autumn to celebrate Judith’s 90th birthday.

The digital exhibition explores the major themes within Enid Blyton’s writing and highlights her extraordinary achievements in turning countless numbers of children into readers. The exhibition includes digitised elements of the temporary exhibition which opened at Seven Stories in May 2013, material from the Seven Stories Collection and the voices and recollections of Blyton readers. Fans can easily interact and engage with the content and be inspired to create their own stories.

The exhibition has been developed with the aim to reach a wider audience of Enid Blyton fans with diverse needs and interests. Seven Stories expects the exhibition to have national appeal as it includes previously unseen material from the Seven Stories Collection which generated press interest from New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, Canada and the USA when it was discovered in 2011.

Mystery, Magic and Midnight Feasts: A Digital Exhibition explores 6 key areas; Enid’s Home and Garden, Toyland, The Enchanted Forest, Outdoor Adventures, Schooldays and The Enid Blyton Phenomenon. Each area showcases material from the Seven Stories Collection plus additional extras for uses to enjoy. Visitors are also invited to upload their own memories of Enid, their work that she has inspired or opinions about her books.
