Families Reading Together Programme

EYFS/KS1/KS2, £1195

Reading at home is hugely beneficial to a child’s development, but can be daunting for parents. Seven Stories has a range of offers to help. Our relaxed sessions increase confidence and motivation to read together and are lots of fun. Choose from a one-off visit or session to support your family learning work or engage your school community with our 5 week Families Reading Together programme.

Families Reading Together focuses on enjoyment, introducing a playful approach to bringing books to life. The five weekly sessions in this course for up to 15 parents/carers include:

• Time for adults on their own, building interest, skills and confidence in exploring books with children.
• Time for sharing stories and ideas with their children with the continued support of our facilitator.
• Time to discover some new books, to think about choosing books and to select one to keep and share at home.
• Certificates and a celebration of their achievements.
• Two visits to Seven Stories. The first is just for parents, carers and staff to explore our cultural venue, and introduces new ways of engaging families with books through our inspiring setting. They then return for a second visit to share the experience with their children.
