Bring your teddy bear from school and take them on a trip around the exhibition to meet children’s book bears old and new. A spotlight on bears includes Rupert and Winnie-the-Pooh alongside new stories of polar bears, pandas, talking bears, scary bears and toy bears from more recent favourites such as Hugless Douglas, Mr Gum and the Dancing Bear, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, The Bear and The Piano and Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials.

Children will explore through activities which may include storytelling, narrative led games and songs, dress-up, sensory exploration, discussion, role play or creative critical thinking according to their Key Stage.

Find Out How KS1
Meet our Professor of Bears and take a tour inside the inner workings of a book. Looking at how writers and artists find their ideas, your class will discover the process that underpins the creation of a book, empowering them to embark upon developing their own ideas.
