Seven Stories and the seven schools of the West End Schools Trust came together to develop and deliver My Story, My Place, My Future, an education and public health programme funded by Well Newcastle Gateshead.

The yearlong programme aimed to inspire and enthuse teachers and support parents to engage with children’s books, working towards the improvement of school readiness and the development reading for pleasure cultures within schools and local communities.

This programme culminated in a collaborative of teachers supporting children to create their own artwork in response to the programme, some of which was exhibited at Newcastle Central Library as part of Great Exhibition of the North.

An Evaluation Report from the Research Centre for Learning and Teaching at Newcastle University is due to be published in 2019.

Seven Stories developed and delivered this project.
