Reading Teachers = Reading Pupils is a Cheltenham Festivals programme delivered in partnership with like-minded organisations across the UK including Bradford Literature Festival, Centre for Literacy in Primary Education (CLPE), Just Imagine, Kernow Education Arts Partnership (KEAP), National Literacy Trust, Peters, Seven Stories the National Centre for Children's Books and The Reader.

Set up in 2016, the national network of teachers reading groups aims to inspire reading for pleasure experience high levels of well-being, engage in learning and are successful in life.

Reading Teachers = Reading Pupils gives teachers the time, space and inspiration to engage (or re-engage) with children's books. It responds to the need to increase children’s reading for pleasure, which has been revealed as the most important indicator of the future success of the child. It does this strategically by investing in teachers, who are for many children their most significant reading role-model.

Seven Stories will be hosting a regional RTRP programme. Primary RTRP is open to all Key Stage 2 teachers, but the selected novels will be most appropriate for Year 5/6 pupils so priority will be given to teachers of these year groups. Dates for 2020/21 are as follows:

Launch – 15th October 2020

Meeting 1 – 12th November 2020

Meeting 2 – 14th January 2021

Meeting 3 – 4th March 2021

Meeting 5 – 17th June 2021
