Join us for a full day here at Seven Stories as we explore our nationally recognised collection of British children's literature, through imaginative and inspiring storytimes, illustration and creative writing workshops, book clubs, access to archive materials, such as draft copies, scripts, notebooks, plus sketches and final artwork form some of our most well-known authors and illustrators. 

A warm welcome awaits you at Seven Stories for our first-ever dedicated day to Home Education. We hope to create a safe and secure environment where families can explore the centre, get to know our cast of creatives, access inspiring workshops and make amazing memories!

What to expect when you visit!

Families can arrive from 10.00 am where you can grab a coffee and some breakfast in our bookshop cafe before the day begins. You can pre-book at the link below or on the day at our box office, on arrival at the centre simply check-in and you will receive a ‘what’s on!’ information sheet. You will have access to all story times throughout the day as part of your admission fee.

Storytimes are on at the following times:

  • 10.30 am
  • 1.00 pm
  • 3.30 pm

There will be guided tours of our galleries available throughout the day and self-led activities for varying age ranges also included in your admission fee. Gallery tours are available at the following times:

  • 11.15 am
  • 1.45 pm

Book club (teens)

Book club will be held in our brand-new YA area and will be supported by our cast of creatives. There will be a chance to plan and discuss what the group would like from the session as well as book recommendations, creative writing challenges, and exploring the many different kinds of texts that we have on offer.

Book Club will be held between:

  • 2.00 pm - 3.00 pm

There will be different workshops available each month; these can be booked via a link here or on the day at our box office. These workshops will come at an extra cost. There will also be a book swap held on level two that will be available between 1.00 pm and 4.00 pm.

The day will cost £5.00 per family
