Judith Kerr's Kitchen & The Tiger

Judith Kerr's kitchen, which inspired the bestselling classic The Tiger Who Came To Tea, is on show at Seven Stories.

Seven Stories has been the home of Judith Kerr's considerable archive since 2008, and now we're thrilled to also have units from her kitchen, which will be familiar to fans of the book as the back-drop to many of her illustrations.

See the famous yellow units in the exhibit for free during the week (10am - 5pm unless closed for an event). Free craft activities are provided in the kitchen exhibition for children.

Judith's archive is the most significant collection of artwork by a single illustrator in our Collection and spans over seven decades of material. It includes initial sketches of the 'Tiger' character - which she practised on visits to the zoo!
