Judith Kerr's kitchen, which inspired the bestselling classic The Tiger Who Came To Tea, will open to the public at Seven Stories from Saturday 19th February.

Seven Stories has been the home of Judith Kerr's considerable archive since 2008, and now we're thrilled to also have units from her kitchen, which will be familiar to fans of the book as the back-drop to many of her illustrations.

See the famous yellow units in the exhibit for free during February half term (19 to 27 February, 10am - 5pm). Free craft activities are provided in the kitchen exhibition, and special events are taking place all week to celebrate Judith Kerr's work and her furry, hungry character.

Judith's archive is the most significant collection of artwork by a single illustrator in our Collection and spans over seven decades of material. It includes initial sketches of the 'Tiger' character - which she practised on visits to the zoo!

The kitchen will be open two days a week from 28th February onwards - please check here for exact dates and times, coming soon.
