Authors into Schools

Monday 20th June, 11am: Malcolm Duffy hosts a zoom talk about his new novel, Read Between the Lines, an engaging, heartful book about two dyslexic boys’ unlikely friendship. Recommended for Years 6 to 11.

Wednesday 22nd June, 1:30pm: Aisha Bushby hosts a zoom talk about her new book, A Flash of Fireflies, that tells a spell-binding story about finding your place in a world that feels too strange not to be a fairy-tale. Recommended for Years 5 to 7.

Visit our centre to see original window art by the fantastic local illustrator, Sue Downing, installed especially for International Book Week!

Book Bingo 

On Friday 24th June, 6pm we invite you to our cosy bookshop in Ouseburn for a game of Book Bingo, with special prizes and an after-hours gallery visit for you to explore after the game is over. All ages are welcome!

Myths, Mummies & Monsters with Saviour Pirotta

Saturday 25th June, 11am: Back by popular demand, master storyteller Saviour Pirotta recounts tales from Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt and the Stone Age. Find out what happened when a Victorian doctor bought a mummy's hand, why King Midas made the wrong kind of wish and who helped Prince Theseus defeat the dreaded minotaur.
