Today (Thursday 17th December 2020) the Government announced that the North East will remain on Tier 3 restrictions.

Whilst this means that our Christmas programme cannot all go ahead as planned at Seven Stories, there are many other wonderful ways that you can enjoy a little Seven Stories magic this Christmas over the coming week. 

 

Santa and his team are Elves are back this weekend!

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th December
12.30 - 1.30pm and 3 - 4pm

Santa’s team of elves are back and all set to escort you and your family to our magical Bookshop Grotto for a last opportunity to catch Santa before Christmas. 

Settle down at our writing desk to pen your letter to Santa and make sure to post your lists in our very special Seven Stories post box as you leave. 

Browse in our bookshop whilst you are here and pick up a takeaway drink to enjoy too. 

There’s no need to book for Santa’s Bookshop Grotto but please note that if we are busy our elves may ask you to queue (elfish queue entertainment provided).  Plan your visit.

 

Festive Shopping Evening

After-hours shopping is back this evening in our award-winning bookshop!  With a complimentary festive drink on arrival, our knowledgeable staff are on hand to help you choose the perfect gift and take away the strain of Christmas shopping.

We stock a wide range of books and merchandise from baby boards to chapter books to young adult fiction so you are sure to find something special this Christmas.  If you're lucky, ou migth spot an elf or two!

Plus, we’ve extended our Bookshop Christmas opening hours to include Monday 21st and Tuesday 22nd December so there’s even more time to pop in to browse our books or pick up a delicious festive drink to takeaway with you.

The Twelve Days of Christmas Online Creative Writing Workshop

Saturday 19 December, 11am 

On the first day of Christmas Father Christmas gave to me, a festive writing workshop at Seven Stories! Join us this Saturday on Zoom to write your very own twelve days of Christmas. Put your poetry skills to the test and come up with some merry rhymes and rhythms to entertain your family on the big day. You’ll even get the chance to make some decorations to take ho-ho-home just in time for Santa Claus coming to town!
 
The last in a brand new series of online creative writing workshops to get imaginations fired up and keep words flowing during these long winter weekends at home.
 
Tickets are £10 per household. This event is aimed at children age 7-11 and their families. Book now.

This Christmas, Seven Stories will be going door-to-door, distributing books, food and telling magical festive stories to children on their doorstep. And we’ll still be there in 2021, supporting families to relax and have fun together.

Christmas Opening Times

Seven Stories Visitor Centre will be closed to the public from Wednesday 23rd – Monday 28th December 2020 and on Friday 1st January 2021.
