Each year Seven Stories works with Newcastle University to bring our Collection to life through a series of thought-provoking lectures for lovers of Children’s Literature. With respected and knowledgeable speakers these events highlight some of the most important achievements in Children’s Literature and delve into the history of storytelling and children’s books.

John has illustrated more than 200 books, both adult and children. His illustration work covers a range of authors and titles from Shakespeare to Allan Ahlberg and includes the best-selling Watership Down by Richard Adams. John has recently worked with Philip Pullman producing all the illustrations for Lyra's Oxford and Once Upon a Time in the North.
