Health and Safety and Risk Assessments

Seven Stories acknowledges and fully understands its Duty of Care to the Public under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and applicable Regulations. It is strongly recommended that Teachers or Group Leaders make a pre-visit to carry out their own Risk Assessments before undertaking an outing. Seven Stories can provide a Hazard Sheet to help group leaders in carrying out their own risk assessment, but please note that the hazard sheet in itself does not constitute a risk assessment and should not be used as such.

Supervision

It is essential that children are well supervised during their visit to Seven Stories. Group leaders should understand that they have overall responsibility for children and young people in their care, and that this responsibility cannot be handed over to Seven Stories staff. Please contact staff for advice on Fire Safety, First Aid and Child Protection whilst in the building.

Group leaders must provide adequate supervision with an adult to child ratio that satisfies the standards recommended by DfES Health and Safety of Pupils on Educational Visits 1998:

  • At least 1 adult for every 6 pupils in School Years 1 to 3
  • At least 1 adult for every 10 pupils in School Years 4 and upwards.

Pricing

The price per head is £3.75. Seven Stories' pricing policy recognises that high levels of supervision are beneficial and allows 2 free adults per 10 pupil places booked. One-to-one carers/support workers are granted free entry. Your invoice will be issued after your visit.

Cancellation Policy

A cancellation charge of £30 will apply if you cancel your entire booking less than 7 days before your visit. On the day of your visit, if 5 or more places are cancelled, a cancellation fee of £1 per paying visitor will apply.
