Ages 11-14 - Key Stage Three

If your focus is children aged 11-14, there are many ways you can enrich their reading with visits to Seven Stories, workshops in school, CPD and book buying.

Visits to Seven Stories

Stories, Imagination and Me - Inspired by the original manuscripts and illustrations in our exhibitions and collection. Choose from an illustration and drama workshop looking at the Anthony Browne gallery and his book Changes, or a creative writing and drama workshop looking at Jacqueline Wilson's life and work, in particular Hetty Feather. Sessions are 2 hours, with an hour workshop and an hour facilitated gallery session.

  • Drama. In this session groups use drama techniques to explore a story and use the story as a starting point for developing character, plot and setting.
  • Creative Writing. Inspired by the books in our galleries and collection and fired up with lots of ideas for their own stories, pupils will use their own creative writing techniques to start their own piece of writing which can be continued back at school.
  • Illustration. Using the techniques of world-class illustrators featured in our exhibitions, pupils have a go at their own illustrations using a whole host of materials including watercolour, collage, charcoal, pencil and pen.
