The Seven Stories Collection - What have we got so far?

Seven Stories is the only UK institution actively working to collect, preserve, conserve, exhibit and make available original manuscripts, artwork and prepublication materials by the creators of modern and contemporary British books for children from the 1930s onwards.

At this relatively early stage in our evolution, our holdings are far from comprehensive. We are still in the process of receiving, identifying and conserving material. We are also working in temporary accommodation while a permanent home for the Collection is found. Constraints of space and a limited ability to manage large volumes of work mean that we have had to prioritise how, why and what we acquire. Our main concerns are material at risk and items necessary to support our exhibition programme. Even so, the pace of acquisition is rapid, accelerating and exciting.
