Jasbinder Bilan is the author of four magical realist adventures including the Costa Award winning, Asha and the Spirit Bird. She was born on a farm near the Himalaya, and now lives in a wooded valley with her family and adorable dog Enzo.

Allen Fatimaharan is an award-winning illustrator and animator, who was the World Book Day Illustrator in 2022. He has worked on wonderful projects from comics to children’s books including My Hair written by Hannah Lee and Llama Out Loud written by Annabelle Sami.

What to expect

Michael Rosen and Jasbinder Bilan will tell magical stories and explore the ingredients of tales from around the world, with live illustrations from Allen Fatimaharan. Children will have the chance to join a live draw-along session and brainstorm their own ideas for fairy tale recipes, from weird settings to mischievous villains.

Bring along paper and pencils to help you concoct your own tales. The event is aimed at children aged 6-11.
